“My Grandmother was born in Jerusalem in 1938 and was only ten years old when she was displaced in the Nakba. Despite the toll this took on her and her family, she continues to carry her true Palestinian culture and identity, fondly sharing her stories and authentic recipes with loved ones and strangers alike. The most important lesson she taught me is that culture never dies as long as it is shared, practised and loved. I created Generation Palestine in the hope that it will support and encourage all people to embrace Palestinian culture no matter where they are in the world.”

Operations Director
“With my father from the village of Al-Muzayri’a near Al-Ramla and my mother from Nazareth, I have a deep connection to my Palestinian heritage. My longing for the homeland has been a significant part of my identity. This personal connection drives my passion for Generation Palestine, where I aim to strengthen ties within the Palestinian diaspora. I am excited to work at Generation Palestine to help foster a sense of community and belonging among Palestinians worldwide.”

maysoon ghazal
Community Support Director
“Growing up, my father always associated my love for sweets with our Nabulsi background; ‘we always have sweets before savoury’. As Palestinians, our food, community, our celebrations and our resilience are some of the many wonderful things I learnt about and carried with me over time. Within every story I heard from my family, I saw the love and happiness it brought to their eyes, and a vivid image of a land I hope to see one day through my own eyes. I look forward to bringing this sentiment to Generation Palestine, where the timeless beauty of who we are brings us all together.”

“Palestine is my home. It’s where I learned how to care and love for people and my community. I am very excited to be part of the Generation Palestine team, as it gives me the opportunity to support my Palestinian community and feel like I am helping and giving back to my people!”

Film Project Manager
“When we shot Generation Palestine, I developed my love for sharing stories of culture. The art of bringing people together wherever in the world they may be.
I’ve grown up close to the Palestinian cause, but nothing quite evolves a connection like hearing first hand experiences of the richness of Palestinian culture. There’s a beauty in the diaspora, uniting in music and cuisine that can be shared between people alike and unalike.
Being in the Croatian diaspora, I’ve noticed the importance of connecting to one’s own culture outside of the Balkans and I’m aware of how crucial this is for Palestinians especially. That’s why I’m looking forward to further capturing the treasures of what it truly means to be Palestinian, through my own lens.”

Music Project Manager
“With my parents born in Lebanon, I’ve always understood the shared suffering of the Lebanese and Palestinian people. Growing up in the Lebanese diaspora, music became my way to connect with my heritage, and I came to recognise the power of music that resonates deeply with the land. Like many Arabs, I found solace in Fairuz’s voice, imagining the land in her melodies, just as Palestinians long for theirs. In October 2023, outraged by the Western media’s response to the Genocide of Palestinians, I felt compelled to use music as a form of resistance. It was key for me to find my community in music to voice my support for Palestine and its people. This led me to create ‘Batikh’, a radio show on Noods Radio, where I amplify the voices of cultural resistance through discussions and interviews.”

laila badaro
Music Project Manager and Event Coordinator
“I’m Palestinian wholeheartedly, and my entire family is Palestinian too. I’m passionate about the power of art and community, and I work in music in various capacities. I’ve been behind the scenes at a record label, and I create as a singer-songwriter. Now, I’m super excited to be joining Generation Palestine CIC as the Music Project Manager, and I can’t wait to bring my experience and love for music to a cause that means so much to me.”
